Do they really not crush the car in instances like this?
![]() 02/01/2019 at 08:10 |
|
they should tbh

Ugh, this is just up the road from me. I don’t see anything about disclosing the previous info of the truck on their listing. Seems deceitful to me, as in I wouldn’t want to find out my “new” truck was used to haul dead bodies.

They should crush it and demolish the house too since the murders took place there.

I don’t see the issue with it, they sell cars where people blow their brains out too.
If the car has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, I would not pass up a good deal regardless of what has happened inside it.

A friend of mine from college was murdered a few years back. I had lost contact with him and was startled one evening when it was the lead story on the local news. Turns out h e had recently purchased a Chevy SS, which was stolen by his killers and was the subject of the BOLO .
After his killers were caught, the car ended up listed as a theft recovery at a local used car place. He had done a Holden rebadging on it which he talked about on his Facebook page, so it definitely had been his car. I really would have considered buying it except it was an expensive car and I didn’t have the money. I did think about whether it would give me the willies to drive an old acquaintance’s car, but I decided it wouldn’t. I think I would be honored to have it and have good thoughts of him. (Hey, I have my late grandmother’s car...but she died of natural causes.)

The police very rarely crush cars. Generally speaking, if a particular jurisdiction crushes cars at all (mine doesn’t), cars are only crushed if they are damaged beyond repair or are illegally modified. All others are typically auctioned. A perp using a vehicle to commit a crime (no matter how heinous) is generally not a good enough reason to write off the vehicle itself.

Why would they crush it?? That's crazy that you think the owner should take close to a $20,000 loss and have it crushed!! Maybe you should give the owner to $18000+ and then you can crush it and feel all better. It's beyond me how many people thinks money grows on trees. Also, thousands and thousands of people die every second in their homes, and cars, so crushing or tearing it down isn't an option
